THE Jabalpur Municipal
Corporation (JMC) continued
the drive to clear temporary and
permanent structures from main
routes across the city. The anti
encroachment squad of the JMC
conducted drive in centrally
located areas of the city and
removed illegal structures, hin
dering traffic movement on busy
stretches and restore footpaths
for public use.
Senior officials informed that
they removed illegal structures
from areas in front of Engineering
College, Bada Fuhara, the stretch
from Raddi Chowki to Mandi,
near Bhawartal garden,
Karamchan chowk, Jayanti
Complex, near Malviya square
and adjoining areas.
Officials
informed that the anti-encroach
ment squad cleared makeshift
shops, kiosks, removed tin sheds,
and also razed permanent structures which were creating con
gestion on busy routes and hin
dering traffic movement. Officials
said the citizens are welcoming
the action, saying it helped
reduce crowding and made dai
ly movement easier.
Meanwhile, Municipal
Commissioner Ramprakash
Ahirwar said the drive will con
tinue to ensure the city remains
orderly and accessible.
He added
that the immediate impact of the
drive could be seen in smoother
traffic flow on the cleared routes.
He said the drive is part of JMC’s
comprehensive plan to keep the
city clean, organised and safe for
commuters.
It may be noted that the anti
encroachment squad of the JMC
is continuously carrying out the
drive and razing illegal struc
tures, especially from the main
routes and main market places.
The squad is also seizing the com
modities deck along roads.
