Manager of MP Warehousing and Logistics Corporation held for accepting bribe in Seoni

Lokayukta police on Friday successfully conducted a sting operation, apprehending a manager of Madhya Pradesh Warehousing and Logistics Corporation in Seoni for accepting bribe. The accused, identified as Mukesh Parmar, who serves as Warehouse Manager (Assistant Quality Controller) at the Corporation’s Dhanoura office, was caught red-handed accepting a sum of Rs 15,000.
Lokayukta Superintendent of Police (SP) Anjulta Patle, confirming the report, stated that action followed a complaint filed by an applicant named Surendra Jain.
According to the official report, accused, Mukesh Parmar, had initially demanded Rs 25,000 from Jain. This demand was allegedly made to refrain from reporting or documenting inadequate facilities for procurement of paddy and other grains at Jain Warehouse located in Nai Pipariya village. Subsequent negotiations resulted in a final settlement, establishing the agreed-upon bribe amount at Rs. 15,000. The transaction was scheduled for Friday. The Lokayukta team orchestrated an operation, deploying a trap in the office.
The applicant was instructed to proceed with handing over the designated bribe amount. Upon receiving a signal from the applicant following the exchange, the
Lokayukta team executed the raid, resulting in the immediate apprehension of the accused while he was in possession of the bribe money. Lokayukta trap team which carried out the operation successfully included inspectors Shashi Marskole, Rahul Gajbhiye and Brijmohan Singh Narwariya. The recovered bribe amount has been seized from the possession of the accused. Lokayukta police are proceeding with registration of a case under relevant provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
