Two men attempt to snatch gold chain from patient’s attendant at Medical College

Intentionally creating an uproar late on Thursday night, two young men attempted to snatch a gold chain from a patient’s attendant at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College. Garha police reported that Abhay Singh, a resident of Bargi Hills Colony, brought two persons to the police station with other associates and filed a report. The incident occurred on Thursday night while he was at the Medical College attending to his grandmother who is admitted there. According to the report, two youths were arguing with the duty nurse inside the ward and then exited. Concurrently, Abhay Singh also when the two accosted him, asking why he was following them and subsequently physically assaulting him.
They grabbed and pulled Abhay’s gold chain, causing it to break. During scuffle, Abhay sustained injuries to his left forehead and neck.
Seeing a crowd gathering, youths attempted to flee but were cornered and apprehended by security guards and other people. A search of suspects yielded a piece of the victim’s broken gold chain in the jacket of one of the youths. During interrogation, suspects identified themselves as 30-year old Mohammad Shahrukh Usmani, son of Mohammed Shahjad Usmani, a resident of Qazi Mohalla Garha and 23-year old Azhar Usmani, son of Intezar Usmani, a resident of Choti Bajariya Mujawar Mohalla Garha. Police have registered a report against both the accused under Section 115(1), 296(B), 309(5), 351(3) and 3(5) of BNS.
