ARNAV Chaudhary shocked top seed Tajal Pal on Day One of MSLTA State Championship for Men and Women — Nagpur Zone on Saturday. Arnav stunned Tajal 6-4 in the men’s singles pre-quarters match.
The men’s singles draw is of 64 and doubles draw is of 32 players.
In other matches of the same category, Parth Gaikwad played his best tennis to beat second seed Tarun Fule 6-2; Akshat Dakshindas met his match in Rohan Khune who is twice his age but beat him 6-2. Dhruv Mor raised his game to beat Mehul Fulzele 6-0. Heramba Pohane came from behind to beat Varun Pasari 6-3. Malhar Pagay beat Nischay Sinha 6-0. Yug Singhvi thrashed senior player Dr Alok Umre 6-2. Armaan Patil beat Subodh Sathe 6-4. In women’s singles, in a one-sided match,
Muskan beat Radha Giradkar 6-0 and will face Sejal Bhutada in the final.
