Staff Reporter :
MINISTER for Housing and
Environment O P Choudhary on
Monday presented the report
card of two-year of the Housing
and Environment Department.
Talking to media persons at the
Auditorium of Samvad in Nava
Raipur Atal Nagar on Monday, the
Minister said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu
Deo Sai, the Housing and
Environment Department has
achieved remarkable achievements in the last two years. In
these two years, several welfare
works have been keeping in mind
the availability of affordable
housing to the people, better residential facilities, development
of livelihood means as well as
environment-friendly ease of living.
Minister Choudhary said that
two years ago, the Chhattisgarh
Housing Board was facing many
challenges. More than 3,200 residential and commercial properties remained unsold.
The outstanding amount was
Rs 735 crore. This amount was
provided by the State government to free the board from debt.
Currently, the board has no debt,
he added. According to the new
policy of the Housing Board, 60
percent registration is mandatory,
or 30 percent in the first three
months. Only after this will construction begin. This system will ensure the viability of projects. Citizens'
demands will be directly addressed, said the Minister.
Minister Choudhary provided information regarding the
achievements of the Raipur Development Authority.
He
said that the authority is constructing the PM Unity Mall
at a cost of Rs 193 crore. Historic decisions have been made
in the last two years for the development of Nava Raipur
Atal Nagar. Nava Raipur Atal Nagar has become the coun
try's first debt-free greenfield city.
This achievement is being considered nationally significant. The Nava Raipur Atal Nagar Vikas Pradhikaran has
repaid the entire loan of Rs 1,345 crore related to previous
development projects.
This was made possible by disciplined financial management.
No new debt was incurred. With the debt repayment, land and property worth Rs 5,030 crore became
mortgage-free. These assets are now completely free. This
will accelerate investment and development proposals.
Significant initiatives have also been taken to increase
industrial and commercial activity in Naya Raipur. A tex
tile park is being developed on an area of 132 acres. An
investment of approximately Rs 2,000 crore is estimated in
the textile park, said he.
Choudhary said that Naya Raipur will emerge as a tech hub and is being developed as a conference capital.
The
service and tourism sectors will get a new impetus in Nava
Raipur. The Affordable Public Housing Rules, 2025, have been
implemented for the first time in the state to make regulations more simple, practical, and cost-effective. This will
encourage housing construction. Both citizens and developers will benefit, he added.
The Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board has
implemented a real-time system for monitoring environ
mental emissions from industries. Continuous online monitoring has increased transparency and reliability. An immediate alert is issued when emissions exceed the limit.
Immediate corrective action is possible. Enforcement of
regulations has become stricter. An automated notification system has been implemented, he added.
This has
expedited the administrative process and reduced the
dependence on human intervention. A common hazards
waste treatment, storage, and disposal facility has been
developed, offering a scientific solution to industrial waste
management. The regulatory system has become more effective. This will reduce environmental risks and provide safer
alternatives to industries. The Common Hazardous Waste
will be fully operational by April 2025. Its landfill capacity
is 60,000 metric tonnes per annum, ensuring long-term
waste management and adherence to environmental standards, he said. The achievements of the Housing and
Environment Department establish Chhattisgarh as a financially capable, investment-friendly, environment-sensitive
and citizen-centric state.
The initiatives taken by the department towards achieving the goals of developed Chhattisgarh
are very important and a solid foundation for long-term
development has been laid for this, said he. Chairman of
Chhattisgarh Housing Board Anurag Singh Deo, Chairman
of Raipur Development Authority Nand Kumar Sahu,
Secretary of Housing and Environment Department Ankit
Anand, Commissioner of Nava Raipur Atal Nagar Vikas
Pradhikaran Chandan Kumar, Commissioner of the
Chhattisgarh Housing Board Awanish Kumar Sharan and
other senior officers were present in the press conference.
