Two minor students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) in Bhopal have been reported missing since the night of December 12, causing concern among their families. Ratibad Police registered a missing person complaint on Monday, officials confirmed. According to the police, both missing students are residents of Berasia and are approximately 16 years old. The incident came to light after the school management informed the Ratibad police about their absence. A police team was immediately formed to trace the missing students.

Police Station In-charge Rasbihari said that preliminary investigations, including a review of CCTV footage, suggest the students were seen leaving the campus. During the inquiry, it was revealed that the boys had allegedly been caught smoking cigarettes by a teacher shortly before their disappearance. Authorities suspect the students fled the school premises fearing strict disciplinary action. Family members have questioned the school’s security protocols, asking how the students managed to leave the highly secured residential campus unnoticed, despite strict supervision being in place.

Police have intensified search operations, and teams are in contact with the students’ families. They are actively checking possible locations, including their home districts and other likely hideouts. TI Rasbihari told ‘The Hitavada’ that all possible leads are being investigated and expressed confidence that the students will be traced soon and brought back safely. Further details are awaited as the search operation continues.
