THEworld’s tallest Shiva Lingam
arrived late Sunday night in
Nandora, a village on the out
skirts of Seoni city. A large number of people gathered to see it
late into the night. This Shiva
Lingam departed for its next destination at 4 am on Monday
morning. This gigantic Shiva
Lingam also features 1,008 small
er Shiva Lingams carved into it.
Shiva Lingam weighs
210,000 kg
Professor K K Barmaiya of the
Government PG College and
Ramesh Mishra, a resident of
Khairi Tek, said that such Shiva
Lingams are considered extremely sacred. This Shiva Lingam
weighs 210,000 kilograms and has
been carved from a single stone.
33 foot tall Shiva
Lingam being
transported from Tamil
Nadu to Bihar
This Shiva Lingam is being
transported from Tamil Nadu to
the under-construction Virat
Ramayana Temple in Janakinagar
(Champaran), Bihar. The total
distance is 2,316 kilometers. Alok
Singh said that this 33-foot-tall
Shiva Lingam (approximately the
height of a three-story building)
is being transported with extreme
caution on a special truck with
106 wheels.
This Shiva Lingam, made of
granite, is the only Shiva Lingam
in the world carved from a single stone.
It was sent to Bihar
via a truck trailer amidst chanting of mantras. It will adorn the
Virat Ramayana Temple, which
will depict the entire story of the
Ramayana. This Shiva Lingam
will reach Bihar via Tamil Nadu,
Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, and
Odisha. For its transportation,
several roads have been
widened and bridges strengthened along the route to with
stand its heavy weight.
Features of Shiva Lingam
●This is the worlds tallest Shiva Lingam, standing at 33 feet.
●It weights 210,000 kilograms.
●It has been carved from a single stone.
●The Shiva Lingam was brought to Champaran from Mahabalipuram,
a distance of 2,300 km.
●It will reach Bihar after passing through 4 states to the Virat Ramayana
Temple, which is being built on 123 acres
●Shiva Lingam created with 10 years of hard work - This Shiva Lingam
was created by Vinayak Venkataramans company with 10 years of tire
less effort. It costs approximately Rs 3 crore to build.
●This gigantic Shiva lingam was meticulously crafted by architect
Loknath in Pattikadu village of Mahabalipuram.
●The Lingam will be installed in the temple complex of Bihar on an
auspicious date in late January or February of 2026
