A HIGH-LEVELco-ordination
meeting was held under the
chairmanship of Municipal
Commissioner, Ramprakash
Ahirwar to speed up the
Integrated Solid Waste
Management Project (C&D
waste). The meeting was
organised to strengthen co
ordination among urban bodies and ensure timely imple
mentation of the project.
Officials from 14 urban local
bodies linked to the Jabalpur
cluster took part in the meeting. These include Barela,
Bhedaghat, Chichli,
Gadarwara, Gotegaon, Kareli,
Katangi, Majholi, Narsinghpur,
Panagar, Patan, Saikheda,
Salichauka, Shahpura and
Tendukheda.
The main focus
of the meeting was to make the
cluster model more effective
and result-oriented.
During the meeting the
Municipal Commissioner
directed officials to complete the
project within the stipulated time
so that scientific and efficient
waste disposal can be ensured
across the region.
Additional Commissioner
Devendra Singh Chauhan and
Assistant Nodal Officer of
Swachhata Cell, Abhinav
Mishra were also present. They
reviewed the current status of
waste collection, transportation
and processing under the cluster system.
During the meeting, the
Municipal Commissioner dis
cussed challenges faced by Chief
Municipal Officers (CMOs) in
implementing waste management activities.
He explained on
the-spot solutions to several
issues and stressed the need for
strong coordination among all
urban bodies.
He instructed senior officials
to ensure door-to-door waste
collection, proper segregation of waste and smooth transportation to the cluster facility. The
aim is to help the entire cluster meet the targets of the
Swachh Bharat Mission. At the
end, the Municipal
Commissioner said the
Jabalpur cluster model should
be developed as a model example for the entire state and
sought full cooperation from
all participating urban bodies.
