POLICE are still clueless about
the accused involved in loot and
assaulting a jeweller and his son
with firearms and other weapons
in Jaiprakash Ward under the
jurisdiction of Panagar police
station on Tuesday night. Taking
serious note into the case,
Superintendent of Police, Sampat Upadhyay (IPS) has constituted
separate teams of Crime Branch
and Police for further investigation and apprehending the
accused.
SHO of Panagar Police Station,
Vipin Tamrakar informed that
on December 16, 2025 night,
police received information
about a robbery committed by
unknown persons in a lane
behind Sonia Jewellers in
Jaiprakash Ward, Panagar. Upon
reaching the spot, police record
ed the statement of Sushil alias
Ballu Soni (47), a resident of the
same locality.
According to him, his elder
brother Sunil Kumar alias BhuraSoni are owner of a gold and silver jewellery shop named Bhura
Jewellers in Vidyasagar Ward. At
around 7:15 pm, Sunil was
returning home on his scooter
when six unidentified persons
attacked him near his house. One
of the accused threatened him
with a country-made pistol,
another struck him with a hammer while another hit him with
the butt of the pistol. The remaining accused forcibly snatched
three bags filled with gold and
silver jewellery and managed to
escape from the spot.
Sushil and his son Saksham
alias Shubh Soni tried to intervene but the accused assaulted
them and escaped with the stolen
bags on two black motorcycles
and one white Apache motorcycle towards highway road.
During
the attack, Sunil sustained
injuries to his head, back, shoul
der and lips while his nephew
Kanha alias Sambhav Soni suffered head and hand injuries.
Saksham also sustained facial
scratches and chest pain.
The injured were first taken to
the Government Hospital,
Panagar, and later referred to
Jabalpur for further treatment. It may be mentioned that
Panagar police have registered
a case under Section 310(2) of
BNS while further investigation
is underway to identify and
apprehend the accused.
