Two drug peddlers held with 6 kg ganja worth Rs 3 lakh

CRIME Branch and Madhotal Police nabbed the two drug ped dlers and seized 6-kg Ganja from them amounting to Rs 3 lakh near ISBT in the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday. The arrested have been identified as Roshan Kumhar (45), resident of Bandakpur Road, Kotwali in Damoh district and Krishna Jatav (18), resident of Morgunj, Galla Mandi, Kotwali in Damoh. SHO of Madhotal Police Station Virendra Singh Pawar informed that on the night of 17 December 2025, Crime Branch received information that two persons wre standing near the ISBT pond carrying narcotic sub stance ganja.
 
Acting on the infor mation and following the provi sions of the NDPS Act, a joint team of the Crime Branch and Madhotal Police started a search in the area. One youth and one man matching the description given by the informer were found and apprehended after cordon ing the area. During interroga tion, they disclosed their identi ties as Roshan Kumhar and Krishna Jatav, both residents of Damoh. In the search of their luggage, police seized seven packets filled with Ganja weigh ing around 6-kilograms amount ing to Rs 3 lakh.
 
Madhotal police have registered case against both under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act while further interrogation is underway to ascertain the source and supply chain of the seized narcotic substance. The peddlers were appre hended with active working of police team comprised of ASI, Beniram Uike and Vishweshwar Verma, Head Constables Tarun Rohitash, Lalji Yadav, Vinay Singh of Madhotal Police Station and under the supervision of Crime Branch Station In-Charge Shailesh Mishra, ASI, Naresh Pasi, Head Constables Rajesh Pandey, Rustam Ali, Akhilesh Pandey, Constable Govind Rai, along with Cyber Cell SI, Kapoor Singh Maravi and Constable Jitendra.
