BVM Ashtis Khel Sangam begins
 
 
BHARATIYA Vidya Bhavan’s Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir, Ashti, Nagpur, witnessed a vibrant and enthusiastic beginning of the three-day Munshi Memorial Inter-School Sports Festival - Khel Sangam on Thursday. The grand inaugural ceremony was held on the school playground in the presence of eminent dignitaries, enthusiastic participants, teachers, parents, and students from various CBSE, ICSE and State Board schools. The ceremony commenced with an impressive Guard of Honour, lighting of the lamp and a solemn sarvadharma prayer.
 
A spectacular march past by 100 NCC cadets filled the atmosphere with pride and patriotism and was followed by the torch-bearing ceremony and dhol tasha pathak performance choreographed by Jawahar Suryawanshi and Madhumita Chukerbutty. The festival was formally declared open in the august presence of Ajay Kumar Yerpude, IOFS, Executive Director, Ordnance Factory Ambajhari, Nagpur, Ministry of Defence; Vijay Munishwar, Guru Dhronacharya Awardee; Rohit Deb Barma, General Manager, Ordnance Factory Ambajhari; Dr Sunanda Sonarikar, Chairperson, School Managing Committee; KM Agrawal, Treasurer, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Nagpur Kendra; Annapoorni Shastri, Director, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Nagpur Kendra; Smt Madkholkar, Principal, Kalasrajan, Nagpur and Vandana Bisen, Principal CBSE. The programme was anchored by Ananta Saklani while Siya Thakur proposed a vote of thanks followed by the National Anthem.
