kicked off the Lok Sabha debate
on the ‘Jee Ram Jee’ bill as the
lead speaker, calling it the
bedrock of a new era for rural
India. In a fiery address, he
described the legislation as a his
toric first, designed to empower
rural economies, foster self
reliance, eliminate unemploy
ment, and equip villages with
irrigation, resources, roads,
water, and electricity for all
round development.
Agarwal contrasted it with
MGNREGA’s 100-day job guar
antee, noting the new bill prom
ises 125 days of timely employ
unemployment
allowances, digital muster rolls,
and durable asset creation ush
ering in transparency,
accountability, and
progress in rural areas.
Drawing on Mahatma
Gandhi’s vision of Gram
Swaraj and his invocation
of ‘Ram Rajya’, Agarwal
accused Congress of
merely branding Gandhi
without action. “Only PM Narendra Modi’s
government is realising Gandhi’s
dreams,” he asserted, linking the
bill to divine will: Lord Ram’s
temple rose after 500 years when willed; now, Ram desires
developed villages alongside a
Viksit Bharat.
He decoded ‘Jee Ram Jee’ as
Viksit Bharat Garanti Rojgar
Aajeevika Mission, ensuring jus
tice, jobs, and prosperity
in the spirit of Ram Rajya.
Key features include 15
day job provision or
unemployment dole, digital oversight to curb cor
ruption, and states’ man
dated contributions with
60% central funding.
Slamming past Congress
regimes for fake muster rolls, pit
digging scams, and ‘work-for
grain’ schemes that hurt farm
ers like denying medicine for
food, Agarwal quipped, “Rahul
Gandhi prefers Haryana’s jalebis;
should his salary be paid in
sweets?” He praised Rural
Development Minister Shivraj
Singh Chouhan for reforms and Modi’s initiatives PM Awas, Ujjwala gas, Ayushman
Bharat, Jal Jeevan Mission, and
rooftop solar.
The bill will build roads, power, water, panchayat schools,
boost agriculture (60 farm days
exempt), cut migration, and allo
cate 1.5 lakh crore up from
30,000-40,000 crore earlier for
self-reliant villages. “Infused with Sanatan Dharma and
Hindutva, ‘Jee Ram Jee’ will deter corruption via Ram’s
name,” Agarwal congratulated
Modi and Chouhan adding that Chhattisgarh, will acceler
ate growth as Lord Ram’s
‘nephew’s land’.
