In-laws booked fordowry harassment,forced miscarriage

 BELBAGH Police have registered a case of dowry harassment and forced miscarriage against the in-laws and started investigation into the case. According to the complaint, Anshi Thakur (27), a resident of Radha Swami Ka Bada, Footatal, she was married to Ayush Thakur, a resident of Bhagwangunj, Sagar, on June 7, 2023, following Hindu customs. At the time of marriage, her father provided cash, gold jewellery and household articles according to his capacity.
 
Soon after the marriage, her husband expressed dissatisfac tion with the dowry and alleged ly told her that he had earlier received a marriage proposal in Bhopal where the family was ready to give Rs 25 lakh in cash and a car, stating that he was unfortunate to have married her instead. He then allegedly start ed demanding Rs 12 lakh in cash and a car. However, after one to two months, her in-laws alleged ly again started harassing her for dowry. She further alleged that her husband physically assault ed her. Further legal action is being taken by the police on the basis of the complaint and inves tigation is underway.
