CITY’S Vikram Batra has been selected in the Indian team which will participate in the Asia Legends Cup. The tournament will be held at Chai Mai International Stadium in Thailand from January 28. According to a release from Board for Veteran Cricket in India, the team was selected on the basis of various zonal tournaments organised by BVCI. Batra, 40, is a wicketkeeper-batter and has played in minor division leagues in UK. Batra, who has played for Royal Cricket Association for several years, has represented Chhattisgarh (East Zone) and performed well in different tournaments which helped him get selected in the Indian veteran team.
 
The squad includes notable former IPL players such as former India pacer Manpreet Gony, who represented franchises including Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab and will lead the Indian team; Shadab Jakati – former IPL left-arm spinner, who played for Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Lions, and a multiple-time IPL title winner with CSK, and Ajit Chandila – former IPL off-spinner, who represented Rajasthan Royals. Other players are — Jatin Saxena (VC), Amardeep Sonkar, Vijay Singh, Parvinder Singh, Kapil Rana, Mohd Kaleem, Deepak Sharma (WK), Praveen Thapar, Naeem, Bal Raj, Gaurav Sachdeva.
