Over 300 dilapidated buildings demolished in Sagar, action continues

SAGAR district administration is carrying out a major drive to demolish dilapidated school buildings and other unsafe structures to make way for new constructions. Over 300 build ings have already been demol ished as part of this initiative. Collector Sandeep G.R. had directed during a recent review meeting with school education officials that no school or oth er building in the district should remain in a damaged or unsafe condition. He instructed that all such structures must be demolished within two days to ensure the safety of students and the public. Following these instructions, demolition work is being car ried out on a war-footing, with over 50 school and other buildings demolished in a single day.
 
The Collector emphasised that no school should function in a damaged or unsafe building, and officials from the education, revenue, and urban development departments, along with school principals, must ensure that unsafe buildings are immediately taken down. He also warned that in case of any incidents, the responsi ble authorities, school man agement, and property owners will be held accountable. After demolition, school principals must submit a certificate of demolition to the block education officer, who will then report to the district education officer. Demolition work has been carried out in areas including Sagar, Rahli, Khurai, Rahatgarh, Malthon, and Dewari. Within municipal limits, several unsafe buildings identified by the municipal corporation are also being demolished. Similar actions are under way across all urban local bod ies in the district.
