SANSKARDHANI is now-a-days
witnessing a glimpse of ‘mini
India’ as young delegates from
12 states gather in the city for a
National Integration Camp. The
participants not only experi
enced Jabalpur’s rich cultural
heritage but were also
impressed by the pace of mod
ern development taking shape
across the city.
Around 200 youth represen
tatives took part in a special
interaction programme held in
the House of the Jabalpur
Municipal Corporation, on
Saturday night. Mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh chaired the event. The Mayor along with
MLA Ashok Rohani, JMC
Chairperson Rinku Vij and oth
er public representatives wel
comed the delegates. They also
introduced the delegates to
Jabalpur’s historical, cultural and
social background, reflecting the
city’s long-standing tradition of
“Atithi Devo Bhava”.
Under the visit, the delegates
were taken to the Municipal
Corporation auditorium, where
they gained knowledge of dem
ocratic processes and the func
tioning of urban local gover
nance. Later, Mayor, MLA
Rohani and Chairperson Vij per
sonally accompanied the group
on a tour of major city land
marks and ongoing develop
ment works.
The delegates appreciated
Jabalpur’s cleanliness, wide
roads and projects being exe
cuted under the Smart City ini
tiative. They said the city pres
ents a fine balance between tra
dition and modernity, with
rapidly improving infrastructure.
During the city tour, the del
egates also praised the beauty
and discipline along the banks
of river Narmada. The visit left
the young representatives
impressed, reinforcing
Jabalpur’s image as a city that
blends cultural values with pro
gressive urban development.
