Last date for submission of the forms is Dec 31
Battle for the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) begins from Tuesday onwards as the nomination process gets under way for ensuing civic body elections slated on January 15, 2026. The civic body officials have completed the arrangements so that aspirants can submit their applications at any of the 10 zones of the NMC. As happens, the main political parties are going to wait till the last moment to submit their nomination forms so as to avoid any rebellion from dejected aspirants. Since the elections to NMC House is being held after a gap of nearly 3-years, the number of aspirants has increased in every ward and the big wigs are going to face tremendous competition in securing nod from respective parties.
Of the total 151 seats up for grabs, about 76 seats are reserved for women candidates, 6 for Scheduled Tribes, 15 for Scheduled Caste and 20 for open category. The last date for submission scrutiny of the nomination forms is going to be taken-up on December 31.
The last date for submission of nomination form is December 30. The last date for withdrawal of nomination is January 2 while final list of candidates and distribution of symbol is going to be published on January 3.
The polling is scheduled to be held in 3000 plus booths spread across the city on January 15. The counting and deceleration of results is kept on January 16. Meanwhile, Municipal

432 No Dues certificate issued
As the date for nomination inches closer, aspirants are busy collecting the required certificates and one among them is about no dues deceleration from NMC, as to any of the statutory taxes. The rules said in case any of the candidates has any dues then same could result in rejection of the nomination papers. So far NMC has issued 432 no dues certificates while it has received 677 applications for the same so far. Administration is busy verifying the applications of remaining applicants.
