THE Jabalpur Municipal
Corporation has expedited
efforts to improve civic ameni
ties and provide support to the
poor and needy in the Gaurighat
area, one of the city’s prominent
religious and tourist places. On
Monday, Municipal
Commissioner Ramprakash
Ahirwar conducted an inspection
of the area along with senior offi
cials and issued important direc
tions for development works.
During inspection, the
Municipal Commissioner
reviewed the condition of the
Ashray Sthal (shelter home) at
Gaurighat. He said ensuring a
dignified and better standard of
living for poor and needy peo
ple remains a top priority of the
civic body. He on the occasion
informed that the shelter will be
renovated and be developed into
a “smart” facility equipped with
modern amenities.
Ahirwar said
needed emphasis will be laid on
cleanliness, access to safe drink
ing water and well organised
accommodation, with the aim of
creating a model shelter home.
He also stressed the need for
better market management and
sanitation in the area to ensure
smooth traffic flow and public
convenience. He also issued
directions to streamline the veg
etable market so that both ven
dors and customers can operate
in an organised and hassle- free
environment.
Ahirwar also inspected com
post plant and public toilets in
the area. He made it clear that
there would be zero tolerance
for any lapse in sanitation stan
dards and instructed officials to
ensure regular monitoring and
maintenance.
Highlighting the importance
of coordinated efforts, the
Municipal Commissioner said
that teamwork is key to transform
the city overall topography.

ing the inspection.
