UNDER the Special Intensive
Revision (SIR) of the electoral
roll, the draft voters list was published on Tuesday at District
Election Office and across all
polling stations in the district.
With the publication of the draft
roll, the process of receiving
claims and objections has also
commenced.
On this occasion, a meeting of
the Standing Committee com
prising representatives of recognised political parties was held
under the chairmanship of
District Election Officer and
Collector Raghavendra Singh.
Political party representatives
were briefed in detail about the
procedures for submitting claims
and objections, their hearings,
and disposal.
Collector informed that the
objective of publishing the draft
roll is to pro
vide voters an
opportunity
to verify their
names and
details, and to
apply for
inclusion or
correction
within the
stipulated
period if
required.
Political par
ties were
urged to widely publicise the
claims-objections process.
Copies of the draft electoral roll
were distributed to party representatives.
Thereafter, while interacting
with media, Collector
Raghvendra Singh informed that
voters can inspect the draft roll
at their polling station, the
Collector’s office, or the office of
the Electoral
Registration
Officer of the
concerned
Assembly constituency.

list is also avail

Commission
of India portal (voters.eci.gov.in).
Voters whose names are missing may apply using Form-6 with
a declaration, while corrections
in name, father’s name, date of
birth, or address can be made
through Form-8. Applications for
inclusion, deletion, or correction can also be submitted online
via the Voters Helpline App or the
ECI portal.
After completion of house-to
house verification, the draft rolls
of all eight Assembly constituencies include 16,76,909 voters, which is 2,48,563 fewer than
the pre-revision figure of
19,25,472 (as on October 27,
2025). The reduction is due to
non-receipt of enumeration
forms, including 51,357
deceased, 66,678 absent, 1,15,437
permanently shifted, 13,869
duplicate entries, and 1,206 others.

He added that notices will be
issued between December 23
and 22 to 69,262 voters whose
forms were received but could
not be mapped with the 2003
SIR. They must submit prescribed documents for inclusion
in the final roll. Hearings will be
held at designated locations, 28 venues in urban areas and
tehsil offices in rural areas. With
rationalisation approved by the
Election Commission, the
number of polling stations has
increased from 2,154 to 2,321,
an addition of 167, across all
Assembly constituencies.
