Uday Samant-led Sena leaders had deliberations with Chandrashekhar Bawankule and other BJP leaders
Uncertainty over the seat sharing among the constituents of Mahayuti in the municipal polls in Vidarbha reigns supreme as the deliberations among the leaders of Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party failed to come to a conclusion.
Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had sent Minister Uday Samant for the talks regarding seat-sharing in Vidarbha’s Chandrapur, Amravati, Akola and Nagpur Municipal Corporations. Samant along with Minister Sanjay Rathod, Adv Ashish Jaiswal, MLC Krupal Tumane, MLA Narendra Bhondekar, East Vidarbha Organiser Kiran Pandav had a meeting with Guardian Minister of Amravati and Nagpur. Samant first interacted with his party leaders separately at Hotel Centre Point.
Later on, he along with his party leaders spoke to Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Dr Upendra Kothekar, Sanjay Bhende and others.
The Shiv Sena team had come to get the party its share in the upcoming municipal corporation polls. When asked about how many seats would the parties contest, Samant said, everyone will come to know once the list of the candidates is out.
While talking to mediapersons, Samant said that the talks were very positive and it was decided that the polls would be contested as Mahayuti. But Samant could not give clear picture about the alliance. He did not say anything about any seat sharing formula in the four Municipal Corporations of Vidarbha. Samant said that he had a meeting with the leaders of BJP heading the polls of respective Corporations.
For example, for Chandrapur, the discussion was held in the presence of Sudhir Mungantiwar, Kishor Jorgewar and Hansraj Ahir, for Akola, Randhir Sawarkar and Navneet Rana for Amravati, and for Nagpur, the discussion was conducted in the presence of Pravin Datke, Dayashankar Tiwari, Anil Sole and others.

As asked by the BJP high command, Sudhir Mungantiwar, Kishor Jorgewar and Hansraj Ahir joined the meeting for Chandrapur Municipal Corporation. In Municipal Council polls, the conflict between Mungantiwar and Jorgewar had come to the fore. Taking serious note of it, Party high command asked the leaders to join hands and resolve the local issue peacefully. On Thursday, State BJP President Ravindra Chavan has given the leadership of the polls at Chandrapur to Mungantiwar. MLA Chainsukh Sancheti will work as Election Observer, ex-MP Ashok Nete as Election-in charge and Kishor Jorgewar as Election Head.
