PAYING tribute to former Prime
Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal
Behari Vajpayee on his 101st birth
anniversary, State PWD Minister,
Rakesh Singh said that Vajpayee
placed national interest above
everything else and transformed
politics into a means of public
service. He said Vajpayee’s life
and ideals continue to inspire
generations.
Singh was speaking at the inauguration of the Atal Smriti
Exhibition at the Bharatiya Janata
Party’s division office, on
Thursday.
The exhibition was
inaugurated in the presence of
State BJP General Secretary Rahul
Kothari, State Treasurer Akhilesh
Jain, Rajya Sabha MP Sumitra
Valmiki, BJP District President
Ratnesh Sonkar, Rural District
President Rajkumar Patel, MLA
Ashok Rohani, Mayor Jagat
Bahadur Singh, BJP Mahila
Morcha State President Ashwini
Paranjpe and others.
Addressing the gathering,
PWD Minister Singh said Prime
Minister Narendra Modi is carrying forward Atal Behari
Vajpayee’s legacy with the
pledge to make India a developed nation by 2047.
He said
governments at the Centre and
in the states are working
towards decisive and transparent governance, a corruption-free system and technology-driven welfare schemes,
reflecting the ideals laid down
by Vajpayee. He added that
India today is emerging strongly on the global stage in strategic, economic and cultural
terms. State BJP General
Secretary Rahul Kothari said
Vajpayee set high standards of
integrity, transparency and
democratic conduct in Indian
politics.
He said that on the call
of the BJP’s central leadership,
Atal Smriti Parv is being organised across districts in the state.
Under the same, the Atal Smriti
Exhibition has been organised
to take Vajpayee’s memories,
ideas and thoughts to party
workers and the public.
The 101st birth anniversary
of Atal Bihari Vajpayee was also
observed across all 967 BJP
booths in the city.
