In Bhoda Sajmal Neti Tola, under Mehdambani Janpad Panchayat of Dindori district, a school is being run under a thatched roof made of grass and straw. Over 37 children from classes one to five are studying there and one regular teacher is providing their services. During discussions, villagers stated that the dilapidated school building was demolished last year in August 2024 on the orders of the Shahpura Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM). More than a year has passed since the building was demolished, but the government has not yet provided a building for the children. The children are forced to study sitting under a thatched roof.
The villagers have demanded a building from the government and administration, but no building has been constructed yet. In this situation, what will happen to the children’s future? How will their future be shaped? The children are demanding a school building from the government.
The villagers also filed a complaint at a public hearing on July 1, 2025, after which the matter was forwarded to the
District Project Coordinator (DPC) of Dindori. However, even after several months, no initiative has been taken by the district administration for the construction of the building. Furthermore, a complaint regarding the entire matter was also filed with the Assistant Commissioner of Dindori on August 20, 2025, but no action has been taken by the Assistant Commissioner’s office either. As a result, the future of the young children studying in the school is in jeopardy.
