Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav stated that Madhya Pradesh is celebrating the Centenary year of Bharat Ratna, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. During this year, the State is witnessing the realistic development of ‘Abhyuday Madhya Pradesh’. He said the government is being run like a family, treating every household as part of one larger family and taking public-interest decisions that embody both ‘Antyodaya’ and ‘Gramodaya’. Satna, he noted, has been a ‘karmabhoomi’ of Lord Shri Ram, and the Government will therefore develop Chitrakoot as a grand, divine pilgrimage centre.

He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has transformed Satna into a Smart City, ushering in a stream of development projects. Chief Minister Dr Yadav addressed an inauguration and bhoomipujan ceremony at the ISBT complex in Satna on Saturday. He inaugurated the newly built ISBT constructed at a cost of Rs 31 crore and announced that it will be named ‘Atal Bihari Vajpayee Inter-State Bus Terminal’.

The Chief Minister described late Atal Ji as a symbol of integrity and nationalism in politics, stating that he governed with a firm commitment to the nation, dharma and public welfare and that his fearless voice continued to resonate in Parliament for nearly five decades. Chief Minister Dr Yadav said that the ISBT in Satna has been completed and that the state government is fully prepared to commence the operation of Government buses from the New Year. Under the ‘Sugam Lok Parivahan Seva’ scheme, affordable and convenient bus services will be launched to every village, while luxury buses will operate in cities.

Chief Minister Dr Yadav announced that the length of Satna airport’s airstrip will be increased to 1,800 metres so that jet aircraft can land there. He said every corner of Satna district will be brought under irrigation, with the full benefit of the Bargi Canal Project extended to Satna, providing permanent irrigation to more than 1.5 lakh hectares of agricultural land. He performed the inauguration and bhoomipujan of 12 development works worth over Rs 652.54 crore in Satna, including the inauguration of the new modern

ISBT and Dhawari Cricket Stadium renovation, and the foundation stone for a new 650-bed hospital to be built at a cost of about Rs 383 crore. These three gifts, he said, will significantly boost Satna’s development, and he also distributed benefits to beneficiaries. Chief Minister Dr Yadav said this entire week has been historic for Madhya Pradesh’s development: bhoomipujan for PPP-mode medical colleges in Dhar and Betul, the Abhyuday Madhya Pradesh Growth Summit in Gwalior with industrial projects worth over Rs 2 lakh crore launched and grounded, the start of Bhopal Metro, and now new wings for Vindhya’s development.

He recalled that Lord Shri Ram spent 11 years at Chitrakoot near Satna and reiterated the government’s resolve to develop Chitrakoot Dham and the whole Satna district. With Lord Kamtanath seated here and tourists from across India and abroad coming to Mandakini’s banks in Chitrakoot, the region holds a special place, especially after Ayodhya. From Shri Ram’s life, he said, one learns the dignity of relationships, his friendship with Sugriv is an ideal example, just as the lives of Shri Ram and Shri Krishna teach the value of friendship.

The Government is advancing Sanatan culture and national welfare while preserving heritage. Under the Ladli Bahna Yojana, sisters and daughters are receiving Rs 1,500 per month. Chief Minister Dr Yadav said Satna now boasts a grand bus stand comparable to those in Delhi and Mumbai, and that while the state once ran ‘Red Buses’ under the Transport Department, Prime Minister Modi has now ensured that roads reach every village. He said that in late Atalji’s centenary year, Madhya Pradesh is receiving many welfare schemes.

Atal ji was an ideal statesman who led a coalition of 24 parties, yet relinquished office by a margin of one vote. On his 101st birth anniversary, grand event were held in Gwalior and Lucknow. The Chief Minister stated that the foundation stone has been laid for a new 650-bed hospital building in Satna, and that under AMRUT 2.0, the city has received multiple development works, including a modern cricket stadium inaugurated at a cost of Rs 7 crore, where day-night matches will be possible.

He affirmed that the state government stands firmly with the people in advancing development. From the New Year, an additional Rs 1.5 lakh hectares in Satna district will be irrigated through the Bargi Canal, and Chitrakoot will also benefit from the Ken-Betwa River Link Project to be launched by Prime Minister Modi.
