AN INTER-STATE public cultural congregation, Kartik Jatra
2025, is being organised
around 40 km from Jashpur in
neighbouring Jharkhand,
bringing together the
President of India and sitting
Chief Ministers of three States
on a single platform. The event
is being held at Pankhraj Saheb
Kartik Uraon Chowk,
Manjhatoli, under Raidih
block of Gumla district, close
to the Chhattisgarh border.
The two-day cultural programme began on December
29 and will culminate on
Tuesday, December 30, with
President Droupadi Murmu
attending the main ceremony as Chief guest. As per the
official schedule, the President
will arrive by helicopter at the
Agadih airstrip in Jashpur
district before proceeding to
the venue.
The gathering assumes special significance as
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister
Vishnu Deo Sai, Jharkhand
Chief Minister Hemant Soren
and Odisha Chief Minister
Mohan Charan Majhi are slated to share the stage during
the event.
Chhattisgarh
Governor Ramen Deka and
Jharkhand Governor Santosh
Kumar Gangwar will also be
present, adding to the constitutional and political prominence of the occasion.
In view of the President’s
visit, elaborate security
arrangements have been put
in place by the district and
police administration.
Security personnel have been
deployed from the Agadih
airstrip to the programme venue, with additional forces positioned along key routes.
Traffic
arrangements have been
partially modified, and certain roads diverted to ensure
smooth and secure movement. The administration has
appealed to the public to cooperate and follow the issued
advisories. The Kartik Jatra 2025 is being organised by the
Pankhraj Saheb Kartik Uraon Tribal Shakti Autonomous
University Construction Committee, a joint body representing Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Odisha.
Organisers
said the event aims to celebrate shared tribal heritage, promote cultural exchange and strengthen social unity across
State boundaries.
Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram and Faggan
Singh Kulaste, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee
on Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes, are among other dignitaries expected to attend the programme.
Organisers and local representatives said the inter-State
cultural congregation is envisioned as a strong symbol of
tribal identity, social cohesion and collective cultural consciousness, reflecting the shared traditions of the region’s
tribal communities.
