Gaurav Brijlal Karda (34), who was critically injured in a violent attack after a Christmas party at a club on Wardha Road, succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday while undergoing treatment in the ICU. He had been battling for life since December 26 and was in critical condition. Karda was attacked allegedly by Saumya Deshmukh and his associates after a Christmas night celebration at Dabo Club. The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday, around 4 am, near Pride Square under the limits of Sonegaon Police Station.

 

According to police, two groups were celebrating Christmas at the club when an argument broke out inside the premises. The dispute reportedly started after one of the accused misbehaved with a woman who was with Karda and his friends. Though the matter appeared to be resolved temporarily inside the club, tensions rose again once both groups came out. The argument soon turned violent outside the club near a parked XUV vehicle. Police said the accused attacked the victims using sharp weapons, iron rods and bricks. The assault left two youths seriously injured. Pranay Naresh Nannavare (28) died earlier during treatment, while Gaurav Karda remained in the ICU for several days before passing away on Tuesday.
