Minimum temperatures dip sharply in northern divisions,Bhopal continues to experience mild daytime winter
Staff Reporter :
MADHYA Pradesh continued to
witness dry weather conditions
during the last 24 hours, with no
rainfall reported from any district. Day temperatures remained
largely stable across the State,
showing no significant change.
However, maximum temperatures stayed below normal by
1.6°C to 2.6°C over parts of Indore,
Narmadapuram, Ujjain and
Jabalpur divisions, while remaining normal elsewhere.
A more
notable shift was observed in the
minimum temperatures, which
fell appreciably, by around 3.6°C,
in several districts of the Gwalior
and Chambal divisions.
Night temperatures were
reported to be above normal by
1.6°C to 2.4°C in areas of Rewa
and Shahdol divisions, while
staying normal across the rest of
the state.
Kalyanpur in Shahdol recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 7.4°C, followed closely by Girvar (7.9°C), Morena
(8.5°C), Gwalior (8.6°C) and
Umaria (9.1°C).
Meanwhile,
Narmadapuram topped the
chart with the highest minimum
temperature of 15.7°C, followed
by Kannod (15.2°C) and Berasia
(13.4°C). On the maximum temperature front, Mandla was the
warmest at 29.5°C, while the
coolest day was recorded in
Amarkantak, where the maximum temperature settled at
22.4°C. Synoptic conditions
influencing MP’s weather include
a persistent upper-air cyclonic
circulation over the Southeast
Arabian Sea and adjoining
Lakshadweep, extending up to
1.5 km above mean sea level.
Another upper-air cyclonic circulation remains active over
north Punjab and its neighbourhood. Additionally, an
induced circulation lies over
northwest Uttar Pradesh, extending up to 1.5 km, and another
western disturbance is seen as a
trough running roughly along
longitude 54°E north of latitude
32°N. These systems are expected to keep the state’s atmosphere
dry while supporting a gradual
fall in minimum temperatures by
2-3°C over the next three days,
after which no major changes
are anticipated.
Bhopal reported clear skies
accompanied by morning haze,
with winds blowing at 10-12 km/h.
The city recorded a maximum
temperature of 25.4°C, which is
2.3°C below normal, and a minimum of 11.6°C, slightly below
the usual by 0.8°C. Morning
humidity rose to 83%, before
dropping to 44% by evening. No
rainfall was recorded in the last
24 hours, while the seasonal rainfall since October 1 stands at 82.4
mm. The forecast for the capital
region indicates continued clear
conditions, cool mornings and
nights, and relatively mild daytime temperatures.
Farmers across the State have
been advised to continue sowing
Rabi crops like wheat, gram,
lentils, mustard and peas where
sufficient soil moisture is present.
Post-sowing planking is recommended to conserve moisture.
Light irrigation may be applied
to standing crops as required.
Residue management machinery like the Happy Seeder is suggested for direct seeding in fields
with crop residue. Farmers should
also monitor mustard, chickpea
and pea crops for early signs of
aphid, pod borer and fungal infestations. Importantly, the burning
of crop residue and stubble should
be strictly avoided.
