The two-day Global Nagpur Summit 2025 kicked off at the IIM Campus in MIHAN, on Saturday, bringing together a large gathering of entrepreneurs, bureaucrats, professionals, social workers, and students who all wish to see Nagpur becoming a global city. Adding vitality to the event organised by the Nagpur First Foundation (NFF), the inaugural session witnessed the presence of diehard Nagpurians like Anoop Kumar, retired IAS officer and Professor at IIM, Nagpur; Dinesh Jain, Co-founder of NFF; Tanveer Mirza, India Chair, NFF; Shashank Rao, International Chair, NFF; Ravleen Singh Khurana, Managing Director of Nitika Pharma; Prashant Mishra - CEO and Founder of Click2Cloud; Dr Vivek Nanoti, Director, LTJSS; Dr Rizwan Ahmed, CTO, delaPlex, Yogesh Bhavsar, VP - State Entrepreneurship Mission (Maharashtra); Vikas Hosoor, Deputy CEO, Rainmatter Foundation - Bengaluru; Bhavik Arya, Representative of Kukreja Infrastructures; and others.

At the outset, Dinesh Jain highlighted the idea behind establishing the Nagpur First Foundation and said, “Nagpur is on the track of becoming a global city as one can see a lot of things happening here. To further accelerate the pace of development, I appealed to students, social entrepreneurs, and others to join the foundation and contribute to make the city global.” In his address, Anoop Kumar called Nagpur a big metro city with the soul of a small village. “While Nagpur has good infrastructure facilities, it is also blessed with a unique touch of a village.

This makes the city an ideal place to reside, especially for people like me,” he said. Interestingly, after his superannuation, Anoop Kumar chose to settle here in Nagpur. Anoop Kumar further said that he had personally witnessed the recent transformation of Nagpur. “As the Nagpur Divisional Commissioner between 2014 and 2018, I have seen the pace of development. Various prestigious institutions were launched and the city took a leap forward,” he said. Tanveer Mirza underscored the unwavering support and efforts of various individuals for the welfare of the society. Mirza said there is an ecosystem striving hard to bring in positive change. “To take it further, we should not be solely dependent on the Government. It's time for all of us to come forward and take the mission forward,” he said, motivating the gathering. Ravleen Singh Khurana spoke about the temperament and lively nature of Nagpurians. “Nagpurians are big at heart. They are not just kind and compassionate, but also have great warmth and a willingness to help others,” he explained, remembering his unexpected meeting with Dinesh Jain in a foreign country. The inaugural session was followed by a presentation by Yogesh Bhavsar on the Nagpur Entrepreneurship Mission and Vikas Hosoor on Sustainable Enterprises. Dr Richa Sugandh conducted the proceedings while Kshitij Ingle proposed a vote of thanks.
