KALAMNA Police arrested a 23- year-old criminal earlySaturday morning and recovered drugs from his possession. The accused has been identified as Qadir alias Baba Zakir Khan, a resident of Gulshan Nagar. Police said several criminal cases are already registered against him, and he has been arrested earlier as well. Around 4.30 am, a police team waspatrolling theGulshanNagar area. When they reached near theShitlaMataTemple, they saw Qadirridingatwo-wheeler.Since heisaknowncriminal, thepolice became suspicious. As soon as henoticedthepolice team,Qadir tried to escape on his bike, but thepolicechasedhimandcaught him a short distance away. During the search, the police found 25.10 grams of MD drug hiddenin hisjacket.They seized the drugs, the bike, and two mobilephones—allworthabout Rs 3.61lakh.Acasehasbeenregistered under the NDPS Act. The operationwascarried out byPoliceInspectorsPraveenKale and Ganesh Dhumal, API Shashikant Musale, Head ConstablePramodKangale, and their team.
