The inauguration programme of the Free Legal and Health Counselling Centre was recently organised by Jyestha Nagarik Pratishthan.
Justice Vikas Sirpurkar, retired Judge of the Supreme Court, was the chief guest. Padma Shri Dr Chandrashekhar Meshram and Padma Shri Dr Vilas Dangre were present as guests of honour, and Kumkum Sirpurkar also shared the dais.
Justice Sirpurkar remarked, “There has always been a generational gap, but today, the widening gap in thoughts and values between elders and youth is becoming a serious social concern.” He lauded the initiative of the Foundation, calling the new counselling centre a much-needed resource.
The counselling centre is located at Glocal Mall, Sitabuldi, within the office of Jyeshtha Nagarik Pratishthan. Timings for free legal advice, every Saturday, are from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. Free health consultation, every Saturday, will be from 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm.
In his address, Dr Meshram advised senior citizens to maintain a stress-free and joyful lifestyle. Cautioning against health risks, he added, “Avoid the food products heavily advertised, they often pose dangers to well-being.”
Dr Dangre praised the Foundation’s efforts and expressed confidence that the centre would help restore the familial harmony that seems to be fading from society.
Dr Raju Mishra, Secretary of Jyeshtha Nagarik Pratishthan; Adv Gauri Chandrayaan, Dr Govind Verma, Dr Khedikar, Dilip Katarkar, and others were present. Hemant Ambarkar conducted programme’s proceedings and Mohan Pandey proposed a vote of thanks.
