The Detection Branch (DB) squads are the most important units at every police station in the city, as they play a crucial role in crime control. These squads are responsible for monitoring criminals, taking preventive action, and detecting crime. However, the squads were found sitting idle and not taking stern action against criminals. Taking cognisance of this situation, Commissioner of Police (CP) Dr Ravinder Kumar Singal disbanded two DB squads from Kapil Nagar and Ambazari Police Stations for their failure to prevent sensational murders. CP Dr Singal has continued action against the DB squads and directed them to initiate a fresh crackdown on criminals.
