Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai chaired a high-level meeting on Monday to assess the progress of the Naxal eradication campaign in Chhattisgarh. The discussions focused on strengthening State’s internal security and accelerating ongoing anti-Naxal operations. Reaffirming the government’s commitment to eliminating Naxalism, Chief Minister Sai stated, “Our goal is to make Chhattisgarh Naxal-free by March 2026. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, we are making every possible effort to achieve this milestone.” Acknowledging the significant achievements of the security forces, the Chief Minister praised their courage and dedication in reclaiming Naxal-dominated areas.

“The final success is now very near,” he said, urging the forces to maintain their high morale as they approach the campaign’s critical phase. Emphasising the strategic importance of coordination and intelligence gathering, Chief Minister Sai described the campaign as ‘a mission to secure the future of Bastar and Chhattisgarh.’ He stressed that any form of laxity in this mission would be unacceptable. The meeting highlighted the need to integrate security measures with developmental initiatives in districts heavily affected by Naxal activities, including Bijapur, Sukma, and Dantewada. The Chief Minister directed officials to engage more actively with local communities to foster trust and expedite development projects.

“The people must feel that the government is dedicated to their well-being and committed to bringing positive change in their lives,” he stated. Chief Minister Sai stressed the importance of road construction, healthcare, education, and employment generation in transforming Naxal-affected regions. These efforts, he said, are essential for instilling confidence among residents and ensuring sustainable development. Calling the current period a “crucial turning point” for the state, the Chief Minister appealed to all officers to contribute with dedication and vigilance. He expressed confidence in the combined efforts of security forces, administrative staff, and the public to achieve the vision of a “Developed Chhattisgarh.” The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Home Minister Vijay Sharma, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Manoj Pingua, Director General of Police (DGP) Arun Dev Gautam, Special DG for Naxal Operations, representatives from the CRPF, and other senior officers from various security forces.
