TWO minor girls, aged 16 and 8, who went missing from a village under Tilda-Neora police station limits after leaving home for breakfast, were rescued from Andhra Pradesh, police said.
The girls’ family lodged a missing complaint at the Tilda-Neora police station after they failed to return and could not be traced locally. Suspecting abduction, police registered a case and launched an investigation. Acting on a tip-off, a police team reached Vijayanagaram in Andhra Pradesh and traced the girls to the custody of a youth identified as Sipahi K
umar (20), son of Shambhu Sahni,
a resident of Jaukatia village under Manjholia police station in West Champaran, Bihar. The girls were safely brought back, and accused was booked under Sections 87 and 64(2)(M) of the BNS, along with Sections 4 and 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. He was arrested and produced before court, which sent him to judicial custody.
