AQUA swimmers shine in all India meet

THE swimmers of Aqua Sports Club brought laurels to the city by excelling in the All India Sea Swimming Championship held at Caranzalem Beach, Goa. The championship was organised by Open Water Swimming Academy in Association with National Institute of Watersports under the aegis of the Swimming Federation of India. More than a thousand swimmers from all over India took part in the competition in different age groups. In 17-24 years female age group, Sanika Kawde of Aqua Sports Club won the gold in 2km swimming event with the timing of 36min 21secs. In 7-10 years female age group, Devyanshi Ashtankar won the 1st place in 1 km swimming event with the timing of 22min 04secs.
 
In age group 17-24 men’s 1km swimming event, Vedant Yerne finished 5th with the timing of 23min 53s. In age group 17-24 men’s 2km swimming event, Ved Pimpalkar finished 7th with the timing of 30 min 39s. In Open Women Age Group 10 km swimming event, Sanjana Joshi finished 8th with the timing of 1 hour 30 minutes and in 5km swimming event, she finished 12th with the timing of 1 hr 13 min. In Open Women Age Group 10 km swimming event, Snehal Joshi finished 12th with the timing of 1 hr 47 min and in 5km swimming event she finished 17th with the timing of 1 hr 21 min.
 
All the above swimmers are the regular members of Aqua Sports Club and train under the able guidance of senior coach Dr Pravin Lamkhade (NSNIS Patiala), ASCA Level – 5 coach Vishal Chandurkar (Florida , USA). Aqua Sports Club President Mohan Nahatkar, Secretary Mangesh Gadre, Director Midland Sports Prashant Ugemuge, Vice-President Operations Preeti Lanjekar, Manager, Ashwin Janbandhu, parents of Aqua Sports Club swimmers congratulated all the swimmers.
