With an aim to improve the train travel experience of people, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Thursday, inaugurated 103 redeveloped railway stations across the country under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. These 103 stations included those at Chanda Fort in Chandrapur district, the Amgaon station in Gondia district as well as the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Itwari Railway Station in Nagpur. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagade, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, Deputy Chief Minister Premchand Bairwa, Union Law and Justice Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal were present at the function in Rajasthan. The function was wathed live at Chanda Fort Station by MP Pratibha Dhanorkar, MLA Kishore Jorgewar, Bilaspur CE B V S Subramaniam, Nagpur Senior Divisional Manager S N Namdev, Additional Collector Nitin Vyavar, freedom fighter Dr Sheshrao Ingole, senior officers of Nagpur Division of South Central Railways, as well as citizens and passenger representatives. It may be mentioned here that the inauguration ceremony was organised simultaneously for 103 stations in 18 States and Union Territories. The Prime Minister also dedicated the newly redeveloped Amgaon Railway Station to people. Work of enhanced passenger facilities and facelift were carried out with the funds of Rs 7.17 crore.
 
Former MLA Bhersing Nagpure, Zilla Parishad Member Savita Puram , Dushyant Kirsan , Tehsilder Monika Kamble , Bhola Gupta, Naveen Jain, Ghanshyam Agrawal, Balaram Vyas, Rail Authorities, Rail Committe Members, were present at the station where the function was telecast live from Bikaner. A drawing competition on Amrit Bharat Station theme was also organised with students participating in good numbers. Various cultural programmes were also organised. The Itwari Railway Station comes under NSG-3 category which has six platforms and approximately 11,828 passengers travels daily from this station. It is an important satellite terminal of Nagpur. Once plagued by traffic issues and poor parking, the station now features improved entry-exit points, organised vehicle lanes, two-wheeler parking, and better traffic regulation, all under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
 
The event was attended by many dignitaries -- Krishna Khopde, MLA, Nagpur East; Padma Shree Dr Vikas Mahatme, former MP, Rajya Sabha; Dayashankar Tiwari, City President, BJP; Basant Kumar Chaurasiya; and Kashinath Dekate. Deepak Kumar Gupta, DRM, SECR; Dilip Singh, Senior DCM, SECR; A K Suryawanshi, Chief Project Manager, Gati Shakti and other senior officers of SECR were also present during the event.
