A 22-year-old youth set fire to vehicles outside his girlfriend’s house after she stopped communicating with him. The incident took place late Saturday night within the jurisdiction of the Kapil Nagar Police Station. The accused, identified as Snehal Sunil Ambade, a painter and resident of Kapil Nagar, has been booked by the police. According to police, Snehal was in a relationship with Punam (22) (name changed), for the past three years. However, the relationship came to light when Punam’s brother Abhishek found out and informed their parents. Following this, Punam cut off all contact with Snehal.

Unable to cope with the rejection, Snehal reportedly made multiple attempts to meet her but was unsuccessful. On Saturday at midnight, he went to Punam’s house and knocked on the door of her first-floor room. When she refused to open it, Snehal created a scene and shouted abuses. In a fit of rage, he set fire to three scooters parked in front of the house. Neighbours rushed to the spot and called Punam’s brother. Abhishek found the vehicles ablaze. With the help of neighbours, he managed to douse the fire. Meanwhile, Snehal fled the scene. A complaint was immediately filed at the police station. Based on Abhishek’s statement, a case has been registered against Snehal Ambade. Police have launched an investigation and are currently on the lookout for the accused.
