CHHATTISGARH has made a remarkable achievement in the collection of Goods and Services Tax (GST) in April, 2025. Chhattisgarh has made its place in the list of top 15 States of the country by collecting GST of Rs 4,135 crore. In the GST collection, Chhattisgarh has also left behind states like Kerala, Punjab, Bihar and Jharkhand. Regarding this economic progress in State, experts believe that this achievement is the result of the strong reforms done by the Chhattisgarh Government in the trade and industry sector. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the State Government has taken many such decisions, which have promoted investment and business in the last 15 months.

The major reforms undertaken by the State Government include simplification of industrial and business regulations, removal of unnecessary and restrictive laws, online availability of all essential services, removal of license requirement for opening petrol pumps and simplification of procedure for setting up industries. All these initiatives have encouraged industrial and business activities in the state, thereby strengthening the economy of State and leading to a steady increase in revenue collection.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that the aim of State is to make Chhattisgarh a self-reliant and prosperous State. This growth in the economic condition of State has been possible with the cooperation of the public and the industry. This performance is a positive sign for the economy of Chhattisgarh and shows that State is moving beyond beinga resource-based economy and is now emerging as a strong industrial hub, he added.
