After India successfully carried out Operation Sindoor and destroyed terrorist camps in Pakistan, police across the country and Maharashtra have been put on high alert. Chief Secretary of Maharashtra Sujata Saunik has asked all Police Unit Commanders and District Collectors to be more alert and ensure safety in their respective areas.
During a video conference, on Wednesday, Saunik instructed all the top police officials to tighten security, especially at important and crowded places. She asked them to increase patrolling and take strong steps to avoid any untoward incident.
Following these orders, Nagpur Police have increased security at several key locations.
These include the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters in Mahal, Hedgewar Bhavan in Reshimbagh, and Deekshabhoomi. Armed police teams are patrolling these areas day and night to maintain peace.
In addition to these, more patrolling has been started in sensitive areas such as Nandanvan, Pachpaoli, Gittikhadan, Yashodhara Nagar, Jaripatka, and Kamptee. The Beat Marshals are also keeping a close watch in these areas.
Police officers in plain clothes have been deployed in crowded places like markets and shopping malls to look out for any suspicious activity.
To control the spread of fake news or panic, the cyber police are keeping an eye on social media.
They are searching for people who are spreading rumours and have started arresting those involved in such crimes.
Chief Secretary Saunik stressed during the meeting that the police must act quickly and carefully.
She said, everyone must work together to keep peace in the State and make sure citizens feel safe.
The police have asked citizens to stay calm, avoid believing in rumours and report any suspicious activity to the local police stations.
