n Light to moderate rains between June 15 and 19 at many parts of Vidarbha Unbearable heat is causing discomfort for citizens as the maximum temperature coupled with high relative humidity is persisting in Vidarbha for last 15 days.
Whereas, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) believes that conditions are favourable for the revival of the southwest monsoon all over Central India including Vidarbha from June 14, after a dry spell following its early onset in some parts of Gadchirol

After an early start in Vidarbha, the progress of the monsoon has been halted, and the northern limit lies in some parts of Gadchiroli.
While the monsoon entered Vidarbha on May 29, its further progress has been stalled. Major parts of the country, including North India, are yet to be covered by the monsoon.
Normally, the onset of southwest monsoon in Vidarbha takes place on June 15 and after early onset, the other parts are likely to get monsoon rains in next few days in Vidarbha.
The Northern Limit of southwest monsoon continues to pass through Mumbai, Ahilyanagar, Adilabad, Gadchiroli, Bhawanipatna, Puri, Sandhead Island, and Balurghat. Conditions are favourable for
further advancement of Southwest monsoon over some more parts of Central and adjoining East India, including some more parts of Vidarbha,
Chhattisgarh and Odisha during next 24 hours, claimed a press release issued by IMD on Friday. The trough now runs from central parts of Pakistan to Vidarbha across central parts of Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh at 0.9 km above mean sea level, it stated.
No large change in maximum temperatures was observed over the region. Maximum temperatures were appreciably above normal over West Madhya Pradesh, above normal over East Madhya Pradesh and normal over Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh.
No large change is reported in maximum temperature for next 24 hours and thereafter fall of 2-3 Degrees Celsius in subsequent days is expected, said the weather department.
In last 36 hours, some parts of Vidarbha witnessed light to moderate rains. Buldana witnessed the highest 392 mm rainfall in last 36 hours followed by Bramhapuri with 9 mm and Akola with 6.7 mm rainfall. Nagpur city also witnessed scattered light rains on Friday evening.
The weather department predicted light to moderate rainfall in many parts of Vidarbha will take place between June 15 and 19 an Nagpur district will also get rains in coming days.
