High Court issued contempt notice to ACS Rajesh Rajoura. A single bench of Justice Dwarkadhish Bansal of the High Court has issued a contempt notice to Additional Chief Secretary Rajesh Rajoura in the compensation case to the Omkareshwar dam affected people. Along with this, instructions have been given to submit a written reply.

In which it has to be clarified why the previous order was not followed within the prescribed time period. The matter is related to the contempt petition of Narmada Bachao Andolan. Through which the attitude of not ensuring compliance of the previous order of the High Court has been challenged. It was argued on behalf of the contempt petitioner that the farmer families displaced due to the Omkareshwar dam have not yet got their due rights.

In fact, on June 7, 2023, the MP government had announced a special rehabilitation package for the farmers and their families affected by the Omkareshwar dam. Under this, a provision was made to give compensation of Rs 2.5 lakh to those farmers who do not have land and their children. But its compliance has not been done till now. Hence, protests were held. But there was no effect. Fed up with this, a contempt petition has been filed. On July 29, 2024, the High Court had said in its order that the Chief Secretary and the Narmada Valley Authority should take a decision on compensation within eight weeks. But this was not done.
