Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) is carrying out a drive to streamline the city’s traffic system. The anti-encroachment squad of the JMC is also taking strict action against encroachments disrupting vehicular movement.
Under the ongoing campaign, the squad conducted a joint drive with Traffic Police, on Friday. In-Charge Officer of the Encroachment Department, Manish Tadse and Akhilesh Singh Bhadoria informed that the anti-encroachment squad conducted a drive from Railway Station Platform No. 6 to Delight Chowk
via Indira Market.
During the drive, 12 handcarts, crates and tables were seized. Apart from that, one small commercial vehicle was impounded and spot fines were imposed on four cars.
Officials said public announcement was also made to warn violators that any repeat encroachment would lead to strict penal action. Senior officials said the civic body would continue the drive and remove all illegal temporary and permanent structures, hindering traffic movement in the city.
