PURVI Kaur Renu claimed twin table tennis titles in the recently held Shruti Club Open Ranking Table Tennis Tournament at RTMNU Sports Campus’ Table Tennis Hall, Ravi Nagar. Purvi clinched the Under-15 and Under-17 girls’ titles to make a memorable day for her. The men’s title went to Jayesh Kulkarni while the Under-17 crown was won by Purabsingh Renu. In the Under-15 girls final, Purvi defeated Sachi Mate 11-2, 11-6, 7-11, 11-7 to lay her hands on the trophy.

 

Later in the day, she beat Varda Kejgir 11-6, 11-4, 8-11, 11-7 for her second crown. In the Under-15 boys final, Karan Kashyap defeated Manas Sharma 11-6, 11-9, 12-10 to emerge champion while in Under-17 boys final, Purabsingh ousted Karan Kashyap 11-8, 7-11, 11-8, 11-7 to take home the title. The U-19 boys final saw Sarth Shastri defeating Purabsingh 11-5, 11-13, 11-8, 15-13 for tile. In women’s final, Harshali Deogade beat Vardha Kejgir 13-11, 9-11, 11-7, 11-7 to wrest the trophy. In men’s final, Jayesh Kulkarni saw off the challenge from Rajat Thodaskar 11-7, 5-11, 11-5, 11-5, 16-14 to emerge champion. Adv Mohan Sudame, Senior Counsel distributed the prizes. Deepak Dhote, Adv Ashutosh Potnis, Adv Akhilesh Potnis, Deepak Kanetkar and others were also present on the occasion.
