Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Jabalpur unearthed undisclosed movable and immovable properties of Rs 5.89 crore in simultaneous raids at multiple locations linked to Jagdish Prasad Sarvate, Divisional Deputy Commissioner, Tribal Welfare Department (Pre-Examination Training) in Jabalpur, Bhopal
and Sagar, on Tuesday. The raids were conducted based on allegations of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
EOW, Director General, Upendra Jain informed that following preliminary verification of the complaint, a case was registered under Sections 13(1)(B), 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (amended 2018). Raids were carried out by three EOW teams at Sarvate’s official residence in Shankar Shah
Nagar, Jabalpur, his private residence in Bagh Mugalia, Bhopal, and ancestral home in Adhartal, Jabalpur.
A separate team searched his government quarter Rs in Sagar.
During the raid at Jabalpur residence, EOW personnel found Rs 7.06 lakh in cash, household items worth Rs 20.41 lakh, 17 immovable properties valued at Rs 3.17 crore, 56 bottles of premium liquor worth Rs 1.08 lakh and 10 properties under his mother’s name still being assessed.
Raid in Bhopal Property unearthed Rs 1.29 lakh in cash, gold jewelry worth Rs 14.99 lakh, silver worth Rs 1.36 lakh, bank FD of Rs 1.5 lakh, household goods worth Rs 23 lakh, three vehicles worth Rs 8.43 lakh, two flats worth Rs 37.32 lakh, and life insurance investments under review.
At Adhartal property,
the team found ancestral
house valued at Rs 1.5 crore, one plot worth Rs 6.51 lakh, insurance policies and locker under evaluation.
Till now, EOW Jabalpur found assets amounting to
Rs 5.89 crore. Search operations and document verifications are ongoing and expected to unearth more undisclosed movable and immovable properties.
