Bhedaghat police solved the blind murder mystery of a youth and arrested one of the accused. The youth was brutally killed by his younger brother with the help of his cousin and two others. The arrested has been identified as Rishabh Singh Rajput (32) and recovered the weapon (jack) used in the crime while other accused named deceased’s cousin Raja Rajput, Lallu Chadar and Devendra Lodhi are still absconding. According to Bhedaghat police, on July 18, police received information from a hospital that a 25-year-old youth named Abhishek Singh Rajput tragically lost his life undergoing the treatment after a road accident.

 

The case unfolded on July 19, when police were informed about Abhishek’s death at a medical college hospital. His father, Vijay Singh Rajput, a resident of Ward No. 1, Shahpura, informed that Abhishek was looking over work related to their family-owned heavy vehicle (Hyva). On July 18, their Hyva was damaged, and Abhishek was sent with a mechanic to get it repaired. On the afternoon of July 19, Abhishek, along with his younger brother Rishabh Singh Rajput, cousin Raja Rajput, resident of Katkuhi, Gotegaon, Lallu Chadar of Rakhi village Patan and Devendra Lodhi of Dhaneta village in Patan, went to a garage near Andhmukh Bypass, to bring the mechanic. While waiting, they had lunch at Bittu Dhaba in Tevar, where Raja paid Rs 1,000 online for the meal.

 

After lunch, the group decided to head back to Shahpura. However, Abhishek expressed his intention to return to Jabalpur, which led to a heated argument. As tensions escalated, the group stopped near Tripuri Sundari Mandir. A violent altercation broke out where Rishabh used a jack and Raja a metal rod to assault Abhishek injuring his hand. Following the assault, Abhishek stopped a passing Bullet motorcycle numbered MP-20ZB-5427 ridden by Shubham Patel and convinced him to take him toward Shahpura. Meanwhile, fearing revenge, the four accused conspired to kill Abhishek before he could reach Shahpura. Near Koodan village, Rishabh, driving a Swift car MP-20-CE-4307, rammed the bike from behind. In the attack, Shubham was thrown off and injured while Abhishek fell down on the road. He attempted to get up but Rishabh hit his head with a jack for multiple times and Raja attacked him with a rod and managed to escape from the spot.

 

Abhishek was rushed to Janaki Raman Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The post-mortem confirmed head injuries as the cause of death. On the basis of evidences, Bhedaghat police registered a case under Sections 109, 103(3), and 3(5) of BNS against the four accused. Acting promptly, Bhedaghat police arrested Rishabh Singh Rajput (32) and recovered the weapon (jack) used in the crime and a search is underway to arrest absconding Raja Rajput, Lallu Chadar and Devendra Lodhi.
