The monsoon trough at mean sea level passes through Jammu, Chandigarh, Bareilly, Gorakhpur, Patna,Bankura, Kolkata, center of Depression over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of coastal West Bengal and Bangladesh. The trough runs from above upper air Cyclonic Circulation over Haryana and neighbourhood to Centre of Depression across Uttar Pradesh, northeast Madhya Pradesh, north Chhattisgarh, south Jharkhand, and north Odisha at 3.1km above mean sea level.
