New ‘diktat’ raises political

Ahead of the Monsoon Session of the State Assembly, political temperature soars in the State capital. Unlike previous session, this time two days before the beginning of the sitting, the Opposition party is up in arms against the Assembly Secretary’s new decisions. Amid main Opposition Congress party’s efforts to take on Government over Jal Jeevan Mission, drug menace, corruption, deplorable conditions of roads etc. issues,
 
a new order putting prohibition on sloganeering and taking supporters inside the premises has steered Opposition and Government’s face-off to another direction. Huge police force deployment in Assembly surrounding on Saturday highlights intensity of potential reactions and protest against the Assembly Speaker’s new directive. Congress leaders, including Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar and State President Jitu Patwari, with their team members registered their strong condemnation on this decision and engaging in another strategy to compel Speaker’s office to roll-back the decision calling it an undemocratic one.
 
A fresh order issued by the Speaker, Narendra Singh Tomar, has banned all forms of protests and sloganeering by legislators inside the Assembly premises. The directive, passed under Rule 94(2), prohibits MLAs from holding any demonstrations or raising slogans within the Assembly complex.
