NAGPUR’S upcoming shuttler Sairaj Nayse entered U-17 mixed doubles semi-finals of the Maharashtra Sub-Junior State Selection Badminton tournament at the PYC Hindu Gymkhana in Pune on Saturday. Fourth seeds Sairaj and his partner Anannya Shinde of Washim rallied back strongly to defeat Sarthak Nalawade and Ditisha Somkuwar 16-21, 21-12, 21-18 in an exciting quarter-finals that lasted 45 minutes. Sairaj and Anannya will now take on second seeds Ojas Joshi and Tanvi Gharpure in the semis on Sunday.
