A woman passenger travelling from Pune to Jabalpur on the Pune-Danapur Superfast Express Train No. 12149 was saved by providing timely treatment with prompt action of railway authorities at Jabalpur Railway Station.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Dr Madhur Verma informed that around 1:30 PM, the Commercial Control received information that a woman was found unconscious in coach S3 of the train.
Acting promptly, the Deputy Station Manager (Commercial) on duty at Jabalpur ensured that the Railway Hospital Casualty Department was alerted before the train’s arrival.
Once the train reached Jabalpur station, Dr Jayati and her medical team promptly attended to the passenger. Dr Jayati reported that the woman was severely dehydrated, and upon checking, her blood sugar level was found to be critically low at just 46.
Immediate medical aid was provided by administering glucose, after which the passenger began
to regain slight movement.
She was subsequently shifted to the District Hospital via ambulance for further treatment. The woman was identified as Lakshmi Bai, wife of Bhagirath, a resident of Mankawara village, Kaimuri, Jabalpur. Her husband and son were accompanying her during the journey.
The family expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the railway authorities for their timely help and life-saving support.
