Residents, commuters fed up of endless construction activities for public projects in the area

Residents of East Nagpur are now fed up of endless construction activities as there seems to be no end to the public projects. The mega multi-layered transport project at Pardi Square that stretched to almost 8-long years was finally completed. Yet, there seems to be no end to miseries of citizens as one can still see big ditches and dug-up road shoulders in the area. So for citizens even after opening of fly-over there is no respite from risky situation on the roads. The commuters are still facing difficulties due to ongoing construction work on road below the fly-over. The roads are seen dug up for laying new pipelines which are causing difficulties for commuters travelling from Wardhaman Nagar towards Pardi. Especially in aftermath of monsoon rains, the road has become even more riskier for the two wheeler riders and pedestrians.

For the citizens there seems to no indication when the current work is going to be completed. As can be seen in front of HB Town, a big road portion is dug-up and no activity is witnessed for past one week. Apart from this the adjoining area including at Prajapati Nagar and on Pardi fly-over, the work has come to standstill due to intense rains. But the open ditches pose a major risk for people as it is well known the population as well as vehicle density in the area is quite dense. The people residing in proximity continue to navigate challenging road conditions. Pedestrians and vehicles share the precarious space wherein auto-rickshaws are arbitrarily parked and they occupy almost every corner at these Squares on these stretches.

The two-wheeler riders have to navigate through gaps, trying hard to avoid hitting pedestrians who criss-cross the road from every direction. The fly-over of Pardi was recently opened then why this sudden work we don't know. But it is eating up part of the fly-over as they have barricaded it and it should get it fixed as soon as possible, said citizens in the area. The sudden work led to frustration among regular commuters, as many questioned, why additional streghthening work was started after commissioning the fly-over. Pardi: One of the key issues lies in the newly developed arm of Pardi flyover is that road stretch towards Prajapati Nagar was dug up. The open pipes and no street lighting means those using the stretch are using at their own risk. Half of the bridge has been painted while other half remains as it is due to which all commuters have to face problems in commuting. Water Logging: The under pass at Wardhaman Nagar though opened for traffic facing the same old issue, that of water logging making its use dangerous for commuters. In case of heavy downpour, the poor planning leads to seepage through walls and creates hazardous conditions for commuters as they may increase chances of they slipping on the wet road. Due to challenging driving condition, the speed of vehicle slows down that increased traffic congestion. Confusion Below: The Hitavada team surveyed the area of Wardhaman Nagar, HB town, and newly inaugurated Pardi fly-over, the underpass, and Prajapati Square, one common problem that came to notice is confusing among users due to multiple columns.
