One-day training workshop on Energy Conservation and Sustainable Building Code (ECSBC) was organised by the Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA). The workshop was addressed by CREDA CEO, Rajesh Singh Rana, who appealed to the participants to prioritise energy conservation and the use of efficient materials in all future building projects. Rana emphasised the importance of making the ECSBC mandatory for all upcoming commercial buildings. He urged building developers, government housing boards, and private housing societies to strictly adhere to the Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) and Eco Niwas Samhita (ENS). He also called for greater use of energy-efficient materials.

Furthermore, Rana highlighted a plan to develop provisions for energy auditing in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to promote energy-efficient technologies and the use of solar energy and shared information about the State Government’s efforts to implement the ECSBC and CREDA’s ongoing work to notify the state’s own ECSBC rules. CREDA is working to ensure that all future government buildings are constructed in compliance with the ECSBC. The programme was attended by engineers and architects from the Chhattisgarh Housing Board, Urban Administration and Development Department, Town and Country Planning (T&CP), and the Public Works Department (CGPWD). During the training session, CREDA’s Project Coordinators, Kushal Tiwari and Priyanka Pachauri, provided technical guidance to the participants.
