The Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited (CSPDCL) has issued an advisory to all Ganesh Pandals and committees regarding safety measures during the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi festival. The notice emphasises the importance of following electrical safety protocols to prevent accidents. The advisory, a copy of which has been widely circulated, states that all Ganesh pandals must be set up at a safe distance from power lines and transformers. Organisers are instructed to use appropriate capacity wires and main switches for electrical decorations and to refrain from using cut or frayed wires. Furthermore, the CSPDCL has made it mandatory for all committees to obtain a temporary electricity connection from the respective zone office for their pandals.

 

The notice warns that the unauthorized and illegal use of electricity is a punishable offense under Section 135 of the Electricity Act, 2003. Violators found using electricity illegally will face action as per the law.
